Treatment at our STI screening clinic in Cork is confidential and non-judgmental. Most treatments are simple and painless and you do not have to be admitted to hospital. 

Our female and male doctors are trained to assess and treat sexually transmitted infections in an understanding and helpful way so there is no need for you to feel embarrassed.

When should you have an STI screen?

-If you have had unprotected sex, especially with an unknown partner.

-If you have any unusual symptoms in the genitourinary area.

-If a recent or present partner has been diagnosed with an STI.

-If you are about to begin a new sexual relationship.

An STI Screen takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Results take ten working days, you can either opt to receive results via text message or you can ask the doctor or nurse to call you at a convenient time to discuss the results. The fee includes any treatment needed or phone consultations subsequent to the initial assessment

A routine Sexual Health Screen involves:

A consultation by a doctor or one of our nurse specialists who will take:

Urine and/or Swab sample – tested for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea

Blood sample – tested for H.I.V, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Syphilis

 

Please Note: If you require Cryotherapy for the treatment of Genital Warts there will be an extra fee depending on the number of warts present and number of treatments required.

 

If you are worried about a particular exposure, and you have NO symptoms, it is advised to leave 2 weeks before you are screened.
